Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Brian Birdwell is a survivor of the terrorist’s attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. After American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon, just feet away from his second floor office, Birdwell was thrown to the ground and engulfed in flames. Of the burns that consumed 60 percent of his body, nearly half were third-degree burns. After enduring more than 30 operations and months of hospitalization and multiple skin grafts, Brian has made a miraculous recovery. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received on that day. Since his retirement, Lt. Col. Birdwell founded Face the Fire Ministries, Inc. to assist burn survivors and wounded servicemen and women and their families.
DVD/CD combo packages of the 2010 Prayer Breakfast for Greater St. Louis, highlighting LTC Brian Birdwell as the keynote speaker, are available for purchase through Lifetime Media @ $15 each, plus $3 shipping. Orders can be placed by calling Lifetime Media at 314-481-4754.

33rd Annual Prayer Breakfast for Greater St. Louis
March 25, 2009
Jim Ryun, our keynote speaker, Olympic Medalist and former U.S. Congressman, shared the wonderfully gracious and humble story of his life. His message centered on how God released him from 12 years of bitterness caused by being disqualified by an official at the 1972 Olympic Games. The 1700 attendees heard a clear message of the difference between religion and relationship. More than sixty heard it -- understood it -- and accepted His forgiveness. What a day!
